Summary

There has been growing international efforts to improve treatment and care for persons with disorders of consciousness (DoC) including the recently published guidelines from the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) and the Royal College of Physicians, as well as the Curing Coma Campaign. In this panel, we will address current health policies germane to patients with DoC in various countries. Perspectives on how more coordinated international efforts might change these policies and translate to global health policy for these patients moving forward will also be provided.
