For the Family

For Families

It has been said that brain injury does not just touch the individual, but the entire family: parents, spouses, siblings, grandparents, and even extended family members. Family and friends often share, in some sense, the experience of trauma, loss and recovery with the person who has the brain injury. The role of family, friends and advocates is not to be minimized; they often influence the recovery process and ultimate outcome in brain injury.

IBIA Activities

The IBIA provides assistance to consumers, families, and providers in locating facilities around the world appropriate to persons with brain injury and disseminating educational material.

The IBIA conducts Family Programs in conjunction with its biennial World Congress on Brain Injury.
