The Robert D. Voogt Founders Award is jointly sponsored by the Robert D. Voogt family and the North American Brain Injury Society.
Award Background & Criteria
Bob was a true pioneer in the brain injury field. Recognizing the need for an organization devoted specifically to addressing the needs of multidisciplinary brain injury professionals, Bob was the driving force behind NABIS during its formative years and served as its first Chairperson. He believed that whether in the area of clinical care, research, policy or litigation, the organization he founded should stand behind the premise that advances in science and practices based on application of the scientific evidence would ultimately provide the best outcomes for those with brain injuries and their families.
This award will be presented to an individual who demonstrates dedication to the advancement of the traumatic brain Injury field. The award will recognize contributions made in the areas of clinical care, research, policy, litigation, or advocacy. The individual or institution should represent the tenacious spirit and unwavering commitment towards persons with traumatic brain injuries that Dr Robert Voogt exemplified over his lifetime.
The Robert D. Voogt Fellowship shall be presented annually.
The following shall be provided to the winner for that year, paid entirely by the Robert D. Voogt Founders Award donations:
- An award of $2,000
The following shall be provided to the winner for that year, paid by NABIS:
- Complimentary meeting registration
- Coach airfare (purchased 30 days in advance)
- and 2 nights accommodation
Deadline: Applications are due November 1. Please attach the following to your application:
- Describe why your receiving the Robert D. Voogt Founders Award would benefit your career (150 words or less)
- Provide an abstract of the work or research you are doing (250 words or less)
- Current CV
