It is my pleasure to invite you to participate in the North American Brain Injury Society’s 15th Annual Conference on Brain Injury, ABI2020! With an overall theme of Best Practices in Brain Injury Medicine and Neurorehabilitation: Improving Outcomes through Interdisciplinary Collaboration, we expect this year’s meeting will play a vital role in bridging the gap between brain injury research and clinical practice.
The North American Brain Injury Society (NABIS) is an affiliate of the International Brain Injury Association (IBIA), and as has been customary at past events, the educational program of the conference will offer keynote addresses by luminaries in the field, highlight important advances in the science of brain injury, and identify emerging evidence that guides delivery of care to persons and families affected by brain injury.
Building on the success of the 2019 IBIA World Congress on Brain Injury in Toronto, we anticipate the conference in New Orleans will be one of the most significant brain injury events held in North America during 2020.
As is typical of NABIS and IBIA meetings, conference participants will have the opportunity to attend didactic sessions on a broad and varied range of brain injury topics, and will be able to share their own research through the submitted abstract peer-review process.
Nicknamed the “Big Easy”, New Orleans is known for its nightlife, exciting live music scene and Cajun cuisine reflecting its history as a melting-pot of French, Caribbean and American cultures. The city’s wide array of attractions, activities, and personality-infused neighborhoods appeal to visitors of all ages. The host hotel for the conference will be the iconic and elegant Roosevelt Hotel, perfectly situated in the heart of the city.
Against this backdrop, the conference will be an outstanding forum for networking and building lasting relationships with like-minded colleagues from around the world.
I look forward to seeing you at ABI2020 in New Orleans!
