Professor Krešimir Rotim became a specialist neurosurgeon in 1998 after finishing his residentship at the UHC Zagreb. He has been holding his PhD on Endoscopic third ventriculostomy with ultrasonic contact microprobe since 2000.

Since 2006 he is the head of the Department of Neurosurgery UHC "Sestre milosrdnice" and from 2008 till 2012 he was the director of the Hospital Centre.

Since 2007 he is a professor of Surgery at the University of Applied Health Studies in Zagreb and the Vice Dean of the University. Since 2009 he is the Associate professor of neurosurgery at the Department of Surgery at School of Medicine University of Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and since 2010 he is the Assistant lecturer of neurosurgery at Department of Surgery at the School of Medicine University of Zagreb and the professor of neurosurgery at the Department of Surgery of School of Medicine University of Split (Croatia).

Professor Krešimir Rotim is the President of Southeast European Neurosurgical Society (SeENS) , the Croatian Society for Spine Surgery and the Croatian Society for Cerebrovascular and Endovascular neursurgery.

He is a member of European association of neurological surgeons (EANS) and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) and American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS).

He is a member of Editorial Board of Neurologica Croatica journal and the Editor-In-Chief of Acta Clinica Croatica journal.  He is also a member of parlamentary science committee and a member of National Healthcare Committee.
