Biography

Nicholas Ryan is a Registered Psychologist, Clinical Neuropsychology Registrar and PhD candidate in the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences, The University of Melbourne, Murdoch Children's Research Institute, and the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne. His ongoing work involves providing psycho-education, neuropsychological assessment, and follow-up of children and their families recruited into a longitudinal study on outcome and recovery of social functioning after paediatric traumatic brain injury. In 2016, he participated in a competitive clinical research exchange fellowship at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute, Canada, investigating cross-national outcomes of children with chronic paediatric traumatic brain injury recruited from Level 1 trauma centers in Australia, Canada and the United States. Relative to career stage, he has been extremely prolific in publishing his research findings to date, including 12 refereed journal articles since 2013. Mr. Ryan has presented at conferences both in Australian and internationally (Boston, Denver and San Francisco), and received numerous awards including an NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence in Brain Recovery Seed Grant in 2015, MCRI Top-Up Scholarship, and an Australian Postgraduate Award in 2014.
