Nicholas Ryan





Mr. Ryan is an accomplished clinical neuropsychologist (BA (Hons.), Assoc. MAPS, MPsych) and PhD Candidate (2014-present) at the School of Psychological Sciences (The University of Melbourne), Murdoch Children's Research Institute, and the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne. This ongoing work involves providing psycho-education, cognitive assessment, and follow-up of children and their families recruited from the Royal Children's Hospital (Melboune) emergency department into a longitudinal study on recovery from paediatric traumatic brain injury. In 2016, he participated in a competitive clinical research exchange fellowship at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute, Canada, investigating cross-national outcomes of children with chronic paediatric traumatic brain injury recruited from Level 1 trauma centers in Australia, Canada and the United States. Relative to career stage, he has been extremely prolific in publishing his research findings to date, including 12 refereed journal articles since 2013. Mr. Ryan has presented at conferences both in Australian and internationally (Boston, Denver and San Francisco), and received numerous awards including an NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence in Brain Recovery Seed Grant in 2015, and an Australian Postgraduate Award in 2014.
