Erika Molteni

Erika received her M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 2007. She then obtained the Ph.D. cum laude from the same university in 2012, with a defence on “Development of methods for the employment of Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) devices in clinics and research”.  She contributed to the nEUROPt European project by developing methods for the processing of brain hemodynamics data from time-of-flight NIRS recordings, with applications to Myotonic Dystrophy and epilepsy. In 2012 she was visiting researcher at Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB, Berlin, Germany). From 2013 to 2016 she was with the Acquired Brain Injury Unit at IRCCS E. Medea (Bosisio Parini, Italy) and with the Centre for Neuroimaging Analysis at San Raffaele Hospital (Milan, Italy), working on the bioimaging of paediatric coma and disorders of consciousness. Erika then joined the Translational Imaging Group at Univeristy College of London in Jan 2017, working on the optimisation of image processing pipelines for improving the sensitivity of biomarkers detection through magnetic resonance imaging in neurological diseases.
