Audrone Prasauskiene





Audrone Prasauskiene was born March 15, 1957 in Kaunas, Lithuania. Dr. Prasauskiene is currently employed as a child neurologist and director of the Children’s rehabilitation hospital, affiliated to Kaunas Clinic, hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and is also an Assistant Professor of Children’s Rehabilitation Department at Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.

She received her medical degree from Kaunas Medical Institute (present Lithuanian University of Health Sciences), 1977-1983. She conducted her postgraduate studies in paediatrics, epidemiology and public health at the Kaunas Medical Academy (present Lithuanian University of health sciences), laboratory for Social Paediatrics, 1989-1994. Her thesis on the Doctor of Medical Sciences defended in 1994. She received a diploma in Public Health at the Nordic School of Public Health, Goteborg, Sweden, 1993 – 2002 and her Master’s degree in Health Management at the Kaunas Medical University (present Lithuanian University of health sciences), 1997-1999.

Dr. Prasauskiene is a member of the Baltic Child Neurology Association, Lithuanian Child Neurology Association, European Academy of Childhood Disability, a Country representative for Lithuania (1999-2008, 2013-present) and was a Founder and chair of the Lithuanian Academy of Childhood Disability (since 2014).

She has had 5 research papers published with 3 more acceptances for publication this year and is the Editor and Co-author of 14 textbooks.
