Summary:
In this symposium, organized by the International Paediatric Brain Injury Society, the main theme of the conference, “from cell to society” is used as a guideline to link paediatric brain injury to interventions, participation and outcome measures.

The keynote lecture will be held by Gary Bedell. He will focus on the concept and importance of participation and challenges in measuring, monitoring and interventions.

A number of examples of good practice will be presented.

Marsh Königs will present his research on fiber tracking techniques and connectivity analysis to assess the consequences of microstructural white matter abnormalities in children with TBI for the structural organization of the neural network in relation to neurocognitive and daily life functioning.

Juliet Haarbauer-Krupa will present a model program designed to facilitate healthcare and career transition to adulthood using peer coaches developed for teens and young adults with acquired brain injuries.

Arend de Kloet will present Brains4U: an intervention to guide young people with acquired brain injury to work.

A panel discussion will complete the symposium.
