IBIA is pleased to host the world premier of the film, “Head Games”, which will be screened for the first time on Wednesday, March 21 at 8:00pm, during the 2012 Ninth World Congress on Brain Injury in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Following his graduation from Harvard where he had been an All-Ivy football player, Chris Nowinski’s career path took an unusual turn-he became a professional wrestler in the WWE. After suffering multiple concussions in football and wrestling Chris has become one of the world’s most well-known advocates of educating athletes and coaches of the short and long term dangers of concussions in all sports. Currently a PhD candidate at Boston University, the movie “Head Games’ is Chris’s story, with expert commentary from leading neurologists, neuro-pathologists, neuro-surgeons and neuro-psychologists. Produced and directed by internationally honored filmmakers Steve James (“Hoop Dreams”) and Bruce Sheridan along with Pulitzer Prize nominated Alan Schwarz, this world premiere movie takes a hard look at the real potential dangers of amateur and professional contact and collision sports.
All World Congress registrants are invited to attend this unique event from 8:00pm to 11:00pm at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre’s Pentland Suite on Level 1. For more information on the World Congress, click here.
